“I let my body release. By giving up complete control over my body, I am left jolting, jumping, moaning, and swaying. Children are so good at releasing energy; both physically and emotionally. They cry, they tantrum, and they understand that these very human reactions are a necessity to ground them and move forward.”
Emotional Release exercises are often used as a tool in therapy. By doing something physical with the body (jumping, yelling, crying, swinging, hugging, tapping), there is relief in the midst of overwhelming emotion. Doing this brings you into the present.
