June Sequence is an improvised performance rooted in Erica Hart’s somatic practice and created in collaboration with Antonia La Mantia. Emerging through a shared sensitivity to form and texture, the work unfolds intuitively alongside an original piano composition recorded in a single take.
Hart wears La Mantia’s handcrafted jewelry—sculptural pieces inspired by natural rock formations and abstracted in precious metals. As silver accumulates wear, it mirrors the body’s own relationship to memory and transformation.
Through close-up framing and an emphasis on gesture, the video draws tactile connections between skin, metal, and movement. Continuing an exploration of improvisation and embodied presence, June Sequence renders the body as a shifting landscape and site of evolving meaning. .
